Funeral services for Estill W. Hargis, 57 of Rt. 1, Waveland a Montgomery County Highway Department truck driver who died here Friday will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home, Rev. Lester Wright will officiaite, with burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Hargis was dead on arrival at Culver Hospital at about 10:30 a.m. after being fatally stricken while waiting for a load of blacktop material at the hot mix plant of Fauber Construction Company south of Russellville, Shipley's Ambulance Service brought him to the hospital. A native of Somerset, Ky, he was a son of James Thomas and Laura Alice Bullock Hargis and was born June 14, 1913. He attended schools in Kentucky, Crawfordsville and Wallace. He was married to Effie Shaver. Mr. Hargis was a member of Oak Hill Tabernacle and Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors incluce his mother; a brother, Everett of Rt 3, Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Carpenter of Rt. 1, Waveland and Mrs. Velma Crane of CMR 8, and nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death. - kbz
